Home Made Museum

The digital passport project tries to assist the visitor to act and choose its path through the museum depending on its feelings and allowing him to be surprised "by the museum". Evaluation of the interest of the different spaces is also part of the concept

Scenario

Based on an interactive token that allows visitor to choose in 3 scenarios :

  • first one offers to choose between the different spaces or collections that he wants to visit. based on this choice, a logical or interesting path is proposed to visitor.
  • second one is made for visitors that come without any special ideas and would like us to propose them a “surprising path” throught the museum
  • third one is for visitor that are not interested by our device. they can do their visit as usual

in first two cases, an interactive token is given to user. this device is based on a Rfid device that will allow to identify vistor while interacting on tablets that do exist in the museum space.

When user comes around a tablet, he can :

– ask for direction or information, it puts its token on the tablet, wherever he is in the museum and information is provided : global orientation, exit, interest point … depending on his choice at the begining of the visit. he can alos change its goal.

– User can also “like” the place where he is, thus indicating to other users some special points of interest (this function can be used by museum staffs to indicate the most liked space or to identify the place that do work in exhibits …)

– User can also asks to be surpised. At this point a point of interest will be proposed to him.

At the end of its visit, visitor is oriented to exit or an additional exhibit can be proposed to him.

This system can also include some passive go-through portal like devices that would allow museum staff to gather statistics on visits thanks to Rfid devices.
